Dreamcatcher announced a full-fledged comeback with the release of the new song <BEcause>. This cool girl band’s summer new album, which always delights the eyes and ears with its intense metal sound and high-level choreography, is currently on a winning streak with over 75,000 copies sold in the first week.

Rolling Stone Korea heard stories about their music and fans through a fantastic meeting with them who are writing success stories in the K-pop scene, whether it is a dream or reality.

2. [RSK] What is the point of the performance of the title song <BEcause> that Dreamcatcher picked?

[Gahyeon] The story line is melted into the dance! It seems fun to find it.

[Jiyu] This is the intro part. A hand with a human belt and scissors on his left hand is a grotesque yet eerie part.

[Dami] Gestures related to the movie <Us> hidden in the middle of the choreography are the points.

[Yoohyun] There are many elements like puppet dolls in this choreography, but I think it’s a feeling that I haven’t seen in Dreamcatcher until now.

[Handong] The point of this new song is Dreamcatcher’s unique summer refreshing atmosphere and doppelganger concept choreography.

[Siyeon] I think it may be the choreography of the chorus that expresses the Chinese character ‘悲’ (sad rain).

[Sooah] The facial expressions of the members who look like dolls are the point!

3. [RSK] In this mini album [Summer Holiday], Jiu participated in writing and composing the lyrics for <Alldaylong> and <Sunflower Heart>. In particular, <Alldaylong> seems to be seeing a new color of Dreamcatcher with a city pop feel. Are there any particular influences or inspirations while working on this song?
 

[Jiyu] There were times when I felt depressed. That day, Yoohyeon said, “Unnie, aren’t you feeling well? Then hug me with people who are not feeling well.” He hugged me from behind, and it was a great comfort. Then the lyrics came to mind, and the part that Yoohyeon sang in <Alldaylong> Verse 2 became the draft for <Alldaylong>!

4. [RSK] <BEcause> is a song that directly expresses the obsession and longing for love. The pandemic situation has limited many things. Is there anything Dreamcatcher craved because of this situation?

[Gahyeon] Even if you go abroad comfortably, meet fans, and meet people, you don’t have to worry about Corona.
[Jiyu] A performance… It is my great longing to perform while listening to Somnia’s shouts.

[Dami] The sound of fans cheering. It’s a source of our energy, but it’s a pity we couldn’t hear the cheers.

[Yoohyeon] Obsession with seeing you in real life… Not (laughs), but I’m craving it! As soon as the situation gets better, I want to show you these wonderful performances.

[Handong] I can’t see our fans in the current situation… I want to see you…

[Siyeon] Tour! I miss the emotions and feelings that I could only feel at that time.

[Suah] I have a longing to directly receive the love and support of the fans. I want to communicate with many people as soon as possible.

5. [RSK] You are the only Korean singer to be invited to ‘Primavera Sound’ to be held in 2022. How are you preparing for the festival? Can you give me some spoilers?

[Gahyeon] We are practicing little by little to get closer to our fans verbally .

[Jiyu] Since it’s a big stage, I’m developing charisma so that I can embrace the audience. (laugh)

[Dami] I think the members’ foreign language skills are improving as they are overseas!

[Yoohyun] Hola! Somos Dreamcatcher! No podemos esperar a verlos a todos! Te veo pronto! Te queremos mucho!

[Handong] First of all, it’s such an honor. And I’m also learning Spanish to get closer to Spanish fans.

[Siyeon] We are preparing a song that can show our unique color well, so please look forward to it! I’ll show you a cool look!

[Sooah] We are preparing carefully and discussing together so that we can look cooler! I’ll give you a spoiler when a more clear outline is revealed. (Laughs)

6. [RSK] In addition to the solid concept, the members are famous for their live skills. Can I expect a solo album or a solo song (like Siyeon’s <Paradise>)?

[Gahyeon] That’s right ! All the members are working hard and we will definitely see you someday.

[Jiyu] Yes! Our members’ skills are comparable to solo songs!

[Dami] All of the members have strong personalities and good skills, so I think we will be able to digest solo songs well enough and show different charms.

[Yoohyun] Yes! And you can usually see our cover songs on Dreamcatcher’s YouTube channel, so please look forward to it!

[Handong] If there is a chance in the future, we plan to release self-composed or solo songs one by one!

[Siyeon] That’s right ! All seven of us have outstanding skills, so you can look forward to it.

[Suah] Carrots! All of the members have great abilities, so please look forward to the day when everyone will perform a solo song!

7. [RSK] You worked apart from member Handong for about a year, how did you feel when you performed <BOCA> and <Scream> as a 7-member group?

[Gahyeon] It was even more impressive because Dong- un-nim prepared really hard, and it was even better when we all stood on the same stage together!

[Jiyu] It was amazing. When the 6 members were promoting, I felt a lot of emptiness… With all 7 of us together, I felt more reassured and at ease.

[Dami] Even after a long time, it felt natural and familiar as if we were always together. Of course, I was very happy.

[Yoohyun] It felt like I found a piece of something I had lost! After all, when there are 7 people, the empty seat is not felt and it feels perfect. Let’s not fall!

[Handong] It’s amazing. I’ve been away for a year, but it’s so good that our breathing fits so well as always.

[Siyeon] It was a pity that there was no Dongi, but when I stood on stage as a whole, it felt like the puzzle had just been put together.

[Suah] I haven’t been with Dongi for a long time, but I was happy because there was no awkwardness and perfect breathing.

8. [RSK] Looking at the videos of Dreamcatchers, I really like the chemistry between the members. What’s the secret to this cami?

[Gahyeon] The secret… I think it’s because they’re all kind, considerate of each other, talk a lot, and understand each other a lot.

[Jiyu] I think everyone has a good personality. And it’s very cool. Also, as we went through difficult times together, I think I felt more that we were the only ones who could comfort us.

[Dami] While respecting each other, the group fit together so well, wouldn’t it be because we had a good heart?

[Yoohyun] Teamwork and an open mind!

[Handong] I don’t think it’s impossible for us to take good care of each other and get along well, and as time goes by, our chemistry can’t be bad.

[Siyeon] What not to hide from each other? We can understand and treat each other as we are, so that seems to be visible to many people.

[Suah] If the secret is that the good relationship between the members is evident, and being together is the most fun no matter where you go, is that the secret? Our members are the best!

9. [RSK] Listening to <Airplane>, it seemed that Dreamcatcher wanted to fly and meet Somnia. If the sky road opens, is there any place you would like to go first?
 

[Gahyeon] I like everything everywhere!

[Jiyu] Wherever there are Somnias! I miss you my love!

[Dami] Anywhere is good. If you just call me, I’ll run right away!

[Yoohyeon] Noah~~~ I want to go see you guys soon! Please wait a little longer until you arrive in a distant country or a country near you!

[ Siyeon ] I want to fly wherever Insomnia is. I miss you
